Teddy Brent has completed a remarkable collection of vintage soul blended with classic modern R&B in his latest CD"Fashionable" under KRG (Kass Record Group). The CD itself shows off the artists gorgeous vocal tones, as well as superb song writing.
This is his second CD to date, the first being released in 2001 called "Soundtrack".
"Soundtrack" had difficulties with both production and coherence, however, it does showcase his vocal range and flexibility.
"Fashionable" is a complete departure from that era and showcases Brent not simply as another NYC crooner hoping for a deal, but as an artist with chart potential and vocal charisma.
Brent enlisted heavy weight producer Joel Kass to produce, arrange, and compose many of the tracks and the final delivery is anything but fashionable...it is unique.

From the title track lyrics of 'Fashionable', you see that there is more here than simply meets the eye. Not going for the eye candy approach, Brent croons about how being fashionable in today's society is a deficit, thus taking a catchy pop hook and mixing it up with ironic and relevant lyrics.
'Afraid To Cry' is a hit in the making. It a slow ballad in the vein of what Toni Braxton would have done back in the 90's, and its catchy hook and soaring lead vocals are heavenly. Without a question, this is my top recommendation of his best song on the CD.
'Most Beautiful Eyes' continues establishing Brent as a soulful crooner singing; "you have/the most beautiful eyes/in the whole world/don't you understand girl?".

The instrumental performances on the CD are amazing, and instead of cluttering the songs, they showcase Brent has his unique tonality. Brent has turned a new corner with 'Fashionable' and its an brilliant corner to listen to and enjoy.
